This week was spent mostly on doing tasks that were not very time sensitive, but important to stay on top of while there are no other pressing issues. I tested, fixed, rebuilt, and setup several devices that had been out of commission. I learned how an inventory system is setup and kept up to date

Today i replaced 4 motherboards into old systems that were already diagnosed not running. I was able to fix one of the old boards by changing the DIMM slot the RAM was seated in. Once the system was up i put a new copy of Windows on it and documented the MAC address and Computer

Today was spent cloning and replacing a hard drive, checking a few stations around campus with minor issues. Internet connectivity to one station was fixed with a simple reset and reseating the cables. No major issues to deal with, so i worked on wiping and resetting a few backup computers.

This week was mostly spent getting old devices cleaned up and ready to sell/donate. I also fixed a few devices that had errors during firmware update. After preparing the old devices they were cleaned up and moved out of storage. We didn’t have a lot of calls from staff/faculty for issues this week.

Today i continued to prep some iMac’s for sale/donation. I also fixed a couple thin clients that had errored during firmware update. I was able to do a factory reset on the thin client devices, then installed an operating system, and updated the clients to have the software needed to push updates. These are backup
