This week was spent mostly on doing tasks that were not very time sensitive, but important to stay on top of while there are no other pressing issues. I tested, fixed, rebuilt, and setup several devices that had been out of commission. I learned how an inventory system is setup and kept up to date with proper procedures. I can see how important it is to have these systems and procedures well thought out of, and tested, so that you can keep track of records and inventory. Within the week i’ve taken in brand new equipment, set it up and put it into inventory. I have also taken old equipment that is being decomissioned and gone through the process of removing the item from inventory and disposed of. The entire life cycle of an IT device in the wild, breath-taking.
